Han angrede sin indblanden og havde efter udstået karantæne tre gode sæsoner i hjemlandet og endnu en i Udborg, men blev aldrig taget til nåde på landsholdet — måske pga. sin efter nogens mening arrogante og lidet sociale personlighed.
